“ wonder boy suits you, ” she insists lightly. “ don’t tell me you haven't seen the disney version of hercules --- even i’ve seen that one. ” if it was anyone else, she would have found the borderline pathological need to do good nauseating. . . but this was sam, and for whatever reason, sam was an exception to almost all of her normal rules. “ you did good today. wonder boy. ” she emphasizes the new nickname before tilting her head up to press a light kiss to his jaw.

did she understand ?

sure, she could see the logic behind it, appreciate it, even. didn't mean she enjoyed the position it put her in. . . but it did give some more definition to their friendship. when it came right down to it, it wasn't really davina that she was pissed at. it was herself for allowing a sense of TRUST to build, foreign though it had been. after a long moment, she exhaled heavily, sighing as she rolled her eyes. “ yeah, yeah. gotta do what you've gotta do, ” she waved off the apology.

with the barrier broken, she stepped forward, putting herself outside the borders of the trap, just to be safe, pacing a slow circle around the trap. “ i’m not always the best informed, ” she started in a drawl, keeping her gaze trained on davina. “ on the outs with management and all, you know how it is. but as far as i can tell ? you're barking up the wrong tree. hell wants to know the same thing you do. ”

                  so  maybe  the  brothers  were  rubbing  off  on  her  with  their  paranoid  ways  .  after  everything  though  ?  she  had  no  other  choice.   she  came  so  close  to  death  .  and  that  alone  ,  sent  her  to  panic.   chin  tilted  up  as  she  gazed  at  the  demon  who  was  trapped.  "  i'm  sorry.  truly  .  i  mean   .  .  you  understand  though  ,  right  ?  can't  be  too  careful  .  " 

      davina's  gaze  though  ,  fell  almost  instantly  when  the  other  stepped  foward  and  pressed  a  hand  against  the  invisible  barrier.  the  guilt  was  growing.  and  after  a  few  more  moments  ,  she  stepped  forward  ,  only  to  reach  for  the  dagger  that  was  tucked  in  the  side  of  her  boot.  she  pulled  it  out  ,  bending  down  and  breaking  the  trap  so  the  other  was  free.  "  there  .  you're  free.  so  let's  talk.  "

“ your family sounds like shit. ” not that she was one to talk, really, but that sort of thing mattered more to humans -- especially when they were young enough to depend on that shitty family. “ it's pretty sad when i can HONESTLY offer better than them, ” she noted glibly, nonchalant despite the truth to her words. “ the only thing I want from you is entertainment, cross my heart. ” she traced her index finger in an x over her heart. “ the way things shook out left me with a lot more time on my hands than I'm used to, and let's be honest -- most of my kind aren't great company. ” she pulled a face wrinkling her nose. “ the torture kink gets old f a s t . ”

the way davina dropped her eyes when talking about the hunters was interesting -- she respected the witch's privacy, though, and didn't go digging. “ hopefully they keep that up, ” she offered, with a thin smile that indicated her hopes were low that they would. historically they weren't the most OPEN MINDED group.

" i appreciate your attempt but . . . . no one has given a crap about me , my entire life . my dad walked out before i was born and my mom was a pyscho who tried to sacrifice me so her and all the other witches in the coven could have power . and everyone else , well , they only want me when they need something ." her words , came out more bitter than anything . which wasn't a surprise . the whole child and virgin sacrificial thing her coven did every few centuries was awful . and she had perhaps , put a temporary stop to their cruel power gain . eyes flickered down a bit at the mention of her hanging around hunters. " they're different. they've given me more of a chance than anyone else has . "

“Run that by me again...” Tristan started, scratching absentmindedly at his jaw, “Except convince me a little more this time.” It was fine, he’d stopped caring a long time ago what people thought of him but there was something, in the pit of his stomach that wanted to win Joey’s parents over. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he couldn’t ignore it. “Also, not sure I want them to fall in love with me like you did because that... would be pretty weird.”

here i go, word vomiting about my ocs. the spn stuff is glossed over, in favor of their main canon stuff.

so there's camael (cv: hikaru midorikawa). he's an archangel, got fed up with the politics in heaven and fucked off to earth around the time the egyptians were building the step pyramid. he's spent thousands of years evading his brothers, observing humanity and ignoring the calls to come back to heaven.

belial (cv: yuma uchida) is a fallen archangel and now a prince of hell. she once was held in high regard, but her need for her brother lucifer's approval led to her listening to him, and her eventual fall from heaven along with him (and their brother azazel but fuck that guy). after a few thousand years she got tired of lucifer screwing her over, and roamed the earth instead. she stayed hidden, but one day camael found her. he almost killed her, but she pleaded with him to calm down and listen. camael finally agreed to let her tag along, she was still his big sister and he always respected her, so they stayed on earth.

as time passed, belial kept them safe. she is very proficient in magic, having created many spells and perfected a warding spell to keep them off of michael's radar. they continued to watch over humans in the shadows, never meddling in historic events.

fast forward to present day (well more like 2008), belial wanted to do something with her time. she has a love of books, so opened a book store.

they both blended somewhat seamlessly into human society, especially camael who found he enjoys dumb pop culture facts and gaming.

belial waited a couple years to see if her shop would be a success, then she decided to open a cafe. a few of her employees had mentioned their roommate, who was an excellent baker and chef. enter haru (cv: mamoru miyano).

haru is fairly chill, funny and very likable. good looks and a very talented self-taught baker. once he and camael meet, the confident and charming archangel is shaken. haru's sparkling aura and radiance is something camael has never seen before, and he's enamored.

eventually, another angel appears. sofiel (cv: tbd) is much younger than belial and camael, only a few hundred years old. she managed to find camael when he was out buying a new game, outside of the range of belial's warding. she was tasked in bringing him home, and was very offended that he refused. she's horrified to know camael is associating with belial, as she was very familiar with what happened when lucifer fell and took some of his siblings with him. it takes her a while to believe that belial is done with lucifer, and eventually warms up to her.

there's several other human characters that work in the book shop and cafe that i'm figuring out. these humans are aware of what belial and camael are. haru doesn't find out for a few months after he was hired, i'm still piecing that together.

belial also has a lieutenant who shows up later on. her name is murmur, and she is an ancient horror who takes the form of a small child. she's an expert at mental manipulation, and she knows when someone has ill intent. she also lulls people in with her cuteness, and talks shit about angels.

there's also some spn verse stuff...

everything is pretty much the same, except that sofiel appears after the angels fell.

the bulk of the spn verse is post series, where jack comes to enlist belial's help. he knows she has a spell that can open a portal to the empty, he wants to free the angels and demons and return them to heaven and hell respectively.

in terms of appearance, i've worked out camael and belial. if i could draw it would be easier lmao

camael's human form/vessel hasn't changed since the old kingdom. he's tan, lean and muscular with long black hair and amber eyes. he favors wearing pop culture/band/gamer shirts with a flannel or a hoodie and jeans or yoga pants with well worn converse sneakers or boots. he has eyes tattooed all over his body, along with three pairs of wings along his back and neck. he has his weapons on display in his office, out of camera range. he's a successful streamer and does a lot of charity streams. he's loud and dramatic, and he is very confident.

belial is small and cute, with long dark brown hair, straight bangs and lilac eyes. in the spn verse, her vessel was a japanese pop star who was killed in an accident. she has books where she keeps track of the spells she's created, some date back to ancient times. these are her most prized possessions, and she keeps them hidden from prying eyes. her true form is different from the other denizens of hell (she doesn't like being classified as a demon, even though she was used as a template by lucifer to create demons). she retains her angelic true form, but it's almost been inverted in terms of colors. her wings once glowed in iridescent light, now they're smoke and ash. her rings were silver and gold and made beautiful sounds, now they're tarnished and rusty, and they sound more like nails on a chalkboard. the shimmer of stardust that used to surround her is now flickering flames.

38. A kiss while one party is carried

they're halfway back to the safehouse she has in the city by the time that davina finally stirs in her arms. as pale eyes flutter open, the demon fixes her with an icy stare, red eyes narrowed in apparent anger. she doesn't slow her pace, nor alter her path -- the fact that the witch is awake now doesn't change the fact that she'd pushed too far and passed out --- again. it looks as though davina is about to speak, and she's quick to cut her off. “ if you're going to keep insisting on pulling this shit, at least take some blood next time for a boost. ” her tone is a careful neutral, feigned indifference, only identifiable for what it is by the barest hint of strain in her voice. “ none of this is worth you dying for, ” she reiterates, punctuating her words with a light kiss to davina's forehead.

was she ever close to any of the other princes of hell? what was her relationship with them like?

Out of everyone, she got along with Azazel the best -- they both came out as sassy motherfuckers, and both have a fondness/connection to magic. That said, any bond they had came to a screeching halt when she flew the coop and threw away her memories and status. Before Lucifer was thrown in his Cage, she was every bit the Good Soldier™, so she didn't indulge much in anything conducive to personal growth, and as such, most of her relationships with the other Princes were pretty superficial. She stayed in Hell with Azazel at first while the other three retired, so she never really got to know them outside of their Father's influence, so if we're being honest, she doesn't have strong feelings towards them in any direction.

Azazel, though...if she remembered him, she would miss him. He was probably the first one she felt genuine fondness for.

of course. it always came back to THEM didn't it ? as though the winchesters didn't have their fair share of shady contacts, the fucking hypocrites. she liked davina, which was rare enough, but she'd gone so far as to let her guard down. . . and look where that had gotten her. “ you're not exactly giving me much incentive to risk my ass by telling you. ”

she took a step forward herself, pressing a hand to the invisible barrier keeping her in place. she had an idea or two on getting free, but they were a little more attention-grabbing than she'd like. the question now was whether that was better than putting her limited trust in someone who had already burned her once. “ break the trap and we can talk. ”

                              "  it's  no  offense.  really  .  "  and  she  hated  to  do  it.  to  trap  a  demon  that  actually  won  her  trust  .  taking  a  step  closer  ,  davina  shrugged.  "  consider  it  insurance.  had  i  not  done  this  ,  the  boys  would  question  a  lot  .  "  she  knew  how  sam  and  dean  were.  and  how  they'd  consider  her  friendship  with  a  demon  a  bit  on  the  shady  side.  especially  with  everything  they'd  been  through.   "  i  know  .  .  and  i'm  sorry.   i  just  –  need  you  to  help  me  .  .  .  surely  you've  gotten  some  sort  of  word  about  what  went  down  at  the  bunker.   i  just  need  a  demon's  name.  "

she rolled her eyes right back. “ it's a spectrum. isn't that the phrase of the day ? ” sure, things like her could be killed, but it took considerably more effort than your average human. “ you sound like you've been hanging around hunters, ” she noted with a scoff. “ half of them would consider you more monster than human. ”

" no one truly is durable . " regardless of what they are. angels -- demons . . . they could all be killed. eyes rolled before she turned her head . " i know . seems like i relate more to the monster that i should avoid , than humans . "

Her gaze slid upwards from the gun in his hand to his face, studying him for a moment, her eyes flashing the traditional bright red of crossroads demons. Her lips split into a grin as recognition struck with his words. "Dean, isn't it?" As though she needed to ask. A Winchester selling their soul wasn't exactly small news. "I've got a lot of contacts...you can hardly expect me to remember every desperate tool I come across. "

he frowned at the answer, realizing that he wasn't prepared to meet a demon other than the one he had met before. unless he did — he couldn't tell whether she had changed meatsuits or not. he had to ask, and he was not ready to put down his gun ( the colt ) yet. " — are you the demon that struck my deal? "
